Pond Cleaning

Pond Clean-Outs

An annual pond clean-out – usually done in the spring – sets you up for an entire season of relaxation.

During your service, we’ll clean up all the muck that built up over the fall and winter, take care of your pond plants and make sure all your equipment is ready for the months ahead.

We service hundreds of water gardens beginning when the ice thaws, so schedule early. We want to make it easy for you to get all of your questions answered and get on the schedule.

Easy Pond Clean-Out Scheduling

Step 1

Fill out our Maintenance Request Form. Make sure to include photos and a detailed description of your pond if this is our first time servicing it.

Step 2

We will review your form and contact you to answer any questions you have and provide you with an estimated cost of service. Your deposit will secure your spot on the calendar.

Step 3

Sit back and relax while we clean your pond! On Pond Clean-Out Day, make sure to have your garden hose outside (and the water turned on!), waterfall pump(s) and other components readily available and your water garden electrical outlet turned on.

What's included in a Pond Cleaning Service?

A Spring Pond Clean-Out is your pond’s chance to start the season fresh and renewed. Here’s what we do during your service:

Drain the Pond

Don’t worry; we’ll move your fish to a safe temporary tank.

Give the Pond a Quick Rinse

The next step is to give the water feature a quick pressure washing and rinse. We’ll leave some the beneficial biofilm. Doing this helps prevent algae growth and keeps the ecosystem balanced.

Care for Plants

Once we’ve washed down the pond, we’ll trim back and fertilize aquatic plants.

Add the Finishing Touches

Your team will replace underwater light bulbs or fixtures, re-adjust rocks & gravel and, finally, re-install the waterfall pump.

Refill the Pond

We’ll refill the pond with enough water to reintroduce the fish. For larger ponds, you might be responsible for finishing the filling process and plugging in the waterfall pump. (Don’t worry; we’ll adjust your labor costs accordingly if this is the case.)
