Ecosystem Ponds

Ecosystem Ponds

Ecosystems Ponds are a low-maintenance, eco-friendly way to enjoy the sight and sound of water in your own backyard.

These water features are perfect for water gardening and enjoying koi or whatever other kinds of fish you choose to add.

The Ecosystem Pond System works for everything from the smallest goldfish pond to large swimming and recreation ponds.

How an Ecosystem
Pond Works

Your Pond Skimmer removes most physical debris – sticks, leaves, etc. – from the pond. It also houses your pump, the heart of the pond’s recirculation system.

The biological filter helps keep your water clear by encouraging the growth and spread of Beneficial Bacteria. These bacteria consume excess nitrites in the pond that would otherwise feed green-water algae. The BioFalls also serves as the base of your waterfall.

Your Pond Pump keeps everything moving. It powers your waterfalls and prevents water from sitting stagnant. Our pumps cost very little to run thanks to energy-efficient design and are built to withstand whatever natures throws their way.

Your Pond Pump moves water through sturdy pipes made to stand up to the elements.

Rocks and Gravel create lots of nooks and crannies where Beneficial Bacteria can colonize, keeping your water crystal-clear. The rocks and gravel also make your pond look natural and beautiful.

We use a sturdy, fish-safe EPDM Pond Liner to keep your water where it belongs: in the pond. The non-woven geotextile underlayment sits under the liner, protecting it from rocks and tree roots.

Plants and Fish aren’t just pretty; they play an important role in your pond’s ecosystem. Plants like waterlilies and lotus remove excess nitrates from the water that would otherwise feed string algae. Fish like koi and goldfish eat nuisance insects. You have lots of choices when it comes to fish and plants, giving you the chance to make something that fits your unique tastes.

Ecosystem Ponds for The Hamptons, New York

Ponds are ecosystems in that they play host to a total interrelationship of all living things in the environment– birds, fish, frogs, plants and many microscopic organisms. Ponds not only create a natural ecosystem in their defined environment, but also in the homeowner’s backyard and the entire ecological region.

An Ecosystem Pond works with Mother Nature to provide food, shelter and safety to the wildlife around it. It also provides you with an all-natural, low-maintenance piece of paradise.

A fish pond or Water Garden, as it is sometimes referred to, is made up of many parts. When those parts are assembled together correctly by a professional builder/installer, they form a beautiful and naturalistic work of art that changes personality with the time of day, the change of the seasons and the moods of mother nature. An Ecosystem Pond is a perfect addition for any Long Island home or business.
